"Wildflowers"

This piece started off as a blank space on our living room wall. I had only completed a couple of felted pieces, but I had definitely been bitten by the felting bug. I wanted to create a long narrow, brightly colored piece that we could hang in that blank space. I played around with new kinds of fibers that I had yet to try. This wet felted piece uses merino wool, wool nepps, sari silk waste, sari silk ribbons, slub yarn, bamboo, silk, and viscose fibers. Once dry, I embellised with beeds and embroidery. Sari silk ribbons are looped over a wooden dowel on which to hang.
